Muay Thai Chaiya is one of the best muay thai movie, released last year.

    Muay Thai Chaiya is one branch of the ancient Muay Thai fighting styles (Muay Boran: ancient boxing). Unlike modern Muay Thai that we see - a ring sport, Muay Boran boxers fight with bare fists or wrap only a length of rope around their fists and forearms (Muay Kaad Chueck: rope-wrapped boxing). But because there were a lot of boxers got killed by this type of fighting, then Muay Kaad Chueck is prohibited and boxers must wear boxing glove - like western boxing. And it can be publicly seen only in some special occasions like "Songkran Day: Thai's new year's day" etc.

    The fighting style in this movie is not 100% Muay Thai Chaiya. Like Ong Baak, some postures and fighting shots are adapted and created for entertainment. But this movie will introduce you to another side of Muay Thai when the fighters can use every single parts of their body as a weapon and it's not a sport!!. I'm sure you guys will love it.
